Online Virtual
Learning for Social Success
Safe and Supervised, Ages 9 – 13
What is Virtual Reality Social Skills Training?
Using the latest wave of technology virtual reality social skills training is a comprehensive educational program designed to meet the needs for children and adolescents, including but not limited to those in the autistic spectrum, Aspergers, PDD traits, non-verbal learning disabilities, communication handicapped, developmental disabilities, ADHD, ODD, and anxiety. Virtual reality is an online avatar-based platform that offers a safe, controlled meeting place to conduct training sessions in various “worlds” such as the, classroom, playground, cafeteria, public locations, and other setting. It augments traditional face-to face techniques by allowing each person to act, observe and react inside a virtual environment, rather than just express themselves verbally. This leads to learning at a faster pace, higher engagement, deeper insights and significant generalization from students. The program is designed and configured to virtual reality educational teaching methods.

It's easy for kids, even for those without keyboard skills. With the click of a mouse, kids create their "avatars" to visually represent themselves, including eye and hair color, ethnicity, and clothing. Simple computer commands allow them to move, speak, and communicate verbally and optional chat boxes.
With a couple of clicks they virtually transport their avatar into a virtual environment where they meet with an instructor or join a group of avatars in real time. To name just a few environments, beach, caferia, home, classroom, park and many others.
Communication and interactions are natural — the avatars talk to each other — so there’s no need to type. Want to move your avatar? That’s easy, too. Just use the arrow keys. All interactions can be recorded for instant replay or viewed during other sessions. Students can even see an interaction from another’s point of view!
"Even though it wasn't my idea to bully others on Facebook, I did it so others would like me. When we got caught the other kids lied and said I did it. Then they did it to me on my Facebook page. Cyber-bullying is not cool. I thought is was until it happened to me."
